The holdout juror responsible for the mistrial in Massachusetts mom Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial released a video the night before the defendant returned to court.

Michael Desronvil’s 80-second statement aired on Fox News, where pundits have largely defended his position.

“I know the whole focus has been on me, but we want to reel everything back and put the focus on the three angels that cannot speak for themselves and the ones that can’t fight the battles,” Desronvil says in the clip aired Monday night.

He’s referring to Clancy’s three young children, whom the suspect is accused of killing in January 2023. Her lawyers argue that their 36-year-old client suffered from postpartum psychosis at the time her daughter and two sons were strangled before Clancy attempted to take her own life.

Identifying himself as “the lone juror,” Desronvil expressed gratitude for the Catholic faith, his daughter and the support he’s received since Clancy’s hearing ended in a mistrial on Sept.4 due to his resistance.

“Your prayers, your emotional support, your psychological support, is tremendous to my heart,” the 48-year-old holdout says.

After hearing roughly five weeks of testimony, 11 jurors agreed that Clancy’s compromised psychiatric state precluded her from criminal culpability in her children’s deaths. Desronvil disagreed. His conduct has since been called into question by his fellow jurors, who said they felt compelled to serve notice to the judge in the case that a unanimous verdict couldn’t be reached.

“There wasn’t a single piece of evidence or witness testimony that he used to prove why he was thinking the way he was, which is why we ultimately sent in that note,” juror Nick Dargie told ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Clancy was back in court Tuesday as prosecutors weigh their next move. Her defense argued that they should have access to the jury’s notes from the previous case. The court set a Nov. 2 date to determine when a second trial could begin. Clancy is being detained at the state-run Tewksbury Hospital in Massachusetts where she remains on suicide watch.

The children’s father, Patrick Clancy, remarried in April. He’s been charged with no wrongdoing in connection with the killings.
