Dog the Bounty Hunter's stepson on psych hold after shooting son
Published in Entertainment News
Dog the Bounty Hunter’s stepson, Gregory Zecca, who fatally shot his 13-year-old son in a “freak accident” at their Florida home Saturday, is on a psychiatric hold amid fears he could take his own life.
Zecca, who has been heavily sedated since the tragedy, is on a 5150 hold as he reckons with the death of 13-year-old Anthony, a family representative told TMZ Monday.
The rep clarified that Zecca’s feared state of mind is not due to guilt after Anthony was fatally shot in the neck at their Naples home — for which no arrests have been made — but grief.
“We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony,” the family of Duane “Dog” Chapman previously told TMZ.
The outlet previously reported that Zecca — whose social media appears to have been deactivated — works with his stepdad’s bounty hunting enterprise. Zecca’s mother, Francie Chapman, wed 72-year-old Dog in 2021.
