Shannon Elizabeth has finalised her divorce.

The American Pie actress confirmed last month she had quietly split from Simon Borchert - who she married in 2021 after six years together - last year following speculation about their state of their relationship after she joined adults-only subscription site OnlyFans, and she's now excited to be staring a new chapter in her life.

Confirming her divorce has been finalised, she told Us Weekly magazine in a statement: "Today isn't about the end of a marriage. There are moments in life when you realise that letting go can be exhilarating -- that closing one chapter creates space for an entirely new one, and stepping into that feels incredibly liberating.

"I'm embracing what comes next with a full heart and a renewed sense of purpose. I've never felt more inspired, more creative, or more connected to who I truly am."

The 52-year-old actress is feeling more excited about the future than ever.

She added: "I'm excited to be stepping back into development and conversations around new projects in Hollywood, while also continuing to use my OnlyFans page as a space where I can genuinely connect with fans in a more personal and authentic way.

"Between entertainment, digital content, and the work of the Shannon Elizabeth Foundation - which will always be closest to my heart - I honestly feel more energised about the future than ever before. Sometimes the hardest transitions lead you exactly where you were meant to go."

Her manager, Joseph Reitman, added: "I can tell you Shannon is happier than I have seen her in years."

The end of Shannon's marriage comes just weeks after she confirmed she and Simon were no longer together.

She told Us Weekly magazine: "I've been separated since September of last year, and this has been a thoughtful, ongoing process-not something that happened in the past few days.

"The meaningful pieces are already behind me, and only the formalities remain.

"This is a new chapter for me, and it's one I'm genuinely excited about. I feel stronger, clearer, and happier than I have in a very long time."

According to the publication, Shannon quietly filed for divorce from the conservationist shortly before announcing she was joining Only Fans.
