Prince Harry 'mobbed by nurses' during children's hospital visit

Prince Harry was "mobbed by nurses" during a visit to a children's hospital in Birmingham, England.
The Duke of Sussex - who lives in California with his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and their two children - is currently on a solo trip to the UK and he headed to the Birmingham Children's Hospital on Thursday (09.07.26) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of a specialist nursing programme provided by the charity WellChild.
Sky News reports Harry was "mobbed by nurses" as he entered the building with staff "encircling" him in the hospital corridors and the royal showed his appreciation by talking to the group, hugging them and posing for pictures.
During his visit, Harry met with some ill children on the wards including Alec Hill, 12, with Harry telling the youngster he shares a hobby with his seven-year-old son Prince Archie.
Harry said: "Do you know who's obsessed with Lego? My son Archie - and he's a master builder."
According to the BBC, Harry also addressed a room full of medical staff, telling them: "I don't know if you hear it enough, the difference that you make every single day is quite literally changing daily lives.
"I understand, and we understand, that becomes harder every week with cuts and financial difficulties ... just the insanity that seems to be circulating, not just in this country but in general."
Initial reports had suggested Harry would be joined on the UK trip by Meghan and the kids so Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, could spend some time with their grandfather, King Charles, after four years apart.
However, Harry arrived in the country solo on Monday (06.07.26) and Meghan and the children will not be joining him while he's in London.
It comes after the trip was complicated by a disagreement over arrangements for Harry's stay.
Harry's team initially announced on Monday (06.07.26) that he will be based at the royal residence of Buckingham Palace for part of his trip, but it later emerged that will not be the case.
Insiders said Harry had not formally responded to the king's offer of accommodation at a royal residence by a deadline of the end of last week, and so was told over the weekend he could no longer stay at Buckingham Palace because a minimum notice period is needed to ensure guests can be hosted and Royal Household staff provided.
The 41-year-old royal's representative admitted the decision was "disappointing" and accused the palace of withdrawing the offer "at the last moment" as they explained Harry's delay had been due to him putting security measures in place after it was confirmed he wouldn't receive official protection.
It remains unclear where Harry is staying, and whether or not Meghan and the children will accompany him on any part of the trip.
The family is believed to have been on vacation in Europe together prior to Harry's journey to the UK.
