Lamar Odom feels "grateful" to the Kardashians for "taking care" of him during some tough times in his life.

The 46-year-old former professional basketball player has previously struggled with addiction issues, and his marriage to Khloe Kardashian ended a year after a near-fatal overdose in 2015.

But, while reflecting about some of his former troubles, Lamar admits Khloe and her famous family did their "best" and tried to "protect" him.

Speaking on the Nothing's Off The Table with Louis Ruggiero podcast, he said: "My heart was just broken and getting stronger at the same time.

"I'm grateful for that family for trying to take care of me as best as they can,' he said. No bulls***."

Lamar has also told how Khloe and her mother Kris Jenner helped to get him to rehab for the first time - when they found him in a "f****d up" state in another woman's house.

Speaking about the incident, he said: "My first stint in rehab was because she [Khloe] took me to the rehab.

"My f**king dumbass, I'm hanging out with this girl, and this is while I'm married.

"This is how you know the addict brain is f***ing works bananas. I'm married to her and whatever. I know this girl, and girl's like, 'Let's go up to Big Bear.'

"But I'm married. She knows I'm married, I know I'm married. The whole f*****g world knows I'm married.

"It had to be a summertime on a weekday, and I go to [alpine resort] Big Bear. Wife can't find me, looking for me, obviously.

"I think I'm getting so high on the way up there to Big Bear, just sniffing and snorting.

"I don't know the f*** if I was smoking... but the girl must have been scared to death.

"I must have dozed off. She calls my phone and lets my wife know where we're going to be at.

"First... lets my wife know, obviously, what I'm doing."

The next thing Lamar remembers is seeing Kris' face.

He added: "I just see a head come around the corner, and the lady says, 'Lammy,' and it was their mother.

"I remember I was f****d up."

Kris and Khloe had "six SUVs" outside ready to take him to rehab in San Diego.

He added: "They took me right to San Diego, there was like six SUVs outside.

"They were trying to protect me."
