Prince Harry has denied he's "too posh" to play soccer.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, opened up about his love of the sport during an appearance on James Corden's Fox Sports show revealing he was good at "football" when he was at junior school but he was downgraded to the "E team" after enrolling at the exclusive Eton College.

Show host James teased his pal by saying: "I thought you went to a school that was too posh to play soccer?"

Harry then hit back at his fellow Brit by joking: "Well, I played football. Why are you calling it soccer? ... It was such a posh school that everything was an option. There was a football team."

When asked if he was "any good", Harry replied: "In prep school I was in the first team. And then I went to the bigger school and I was in the E team, being A team down to E team. So that didn't feel very good."

During the interview, Harry also gave his verdict on the performance of the England team at the 2026 FIFA soccer world cup, which was held in the US, as his native country's side crashed out in the semi-finals losing 2-1 to Argentina despite initially taking the lead in the game.

Harry said: "I think what we saw was a slight shock value for them. 'S**t, we are 1-0 up against Argentina' and there was this immediate temptation to fall into defence."

The prince went on to insist he's not convinced England manager Thomas Tuchel pushed the team into a defensive strategy which ultimately cost them a place in the final.

He added: "I don't think it was a tactic. I don't think that was the plan. It just happened. After 72-73 minutes, whatever it was, you can't just defend a 1-0 lead against a team like that.

"You just can't. The mindset is the belief. The fact that you are 1-0 up, believe that you can be 2-0 up."

Harry was also asked to name the "greatest British Harrys" and revealed his list would be pop star Harry Styles at number one followed by England footballer Harry Kane and fictional wizard Harry Potter.
