Kelly Osbourne has marked the one-year anniversary of father Ozzy's death by admitting she's not the same person she was before he passed away.

The Black Sabbath rocker died in July 2025, aged 76, and his youngest daughter Kelly has been open about how much she's struggling to come to terms with the loss.

She took to Instagram ahead of the tragic anniversary to share a new post explaining "what I've learned about grief in the last year", in which she said that Ozzy's passing had divided her life "into two people - the one you were before and the one left behind".

Kelly began: "I don't just mourn the father I lost. I mourn the soul I was before death taught my heart its own name.

"There's a grief that steals more than the person you love. It quietly takes the light from your laughter, the innocence from your hope and the stranger you become is someone you'll spend a lifetime trying to recognise."

While some people think "grief is missing someone who is gone", Kelly insisted that the "deepest sorrow is waking each day longing for the version of yourself who died with them".

She continued: "Grief is a language no-one truly speaks until life forces it upon them. It cannot be explained, borrowed or imagined.

"You only understand its endless ache when you've stood in the unbearable silence, carrying a love that has nowhere left to go."

The 41-year-old admitted she misses "who I was before my daddy died", adding: "Before my heart became a home for absence. Before every memory became both a blessing and a wound."

Kelly concluded her post by writing: "And perhaps that is grief's cruellest truth. Not that death teases the ones we love but that it leaves us living as ghosts of the people we used to be."

She was quickly inundated with messages of support from people in the comments section of the post, with one writing: "My dear father passed away 17 years ago and I can tell you that we learn to move forward... however, something changes inside us! We'll never be the same person again.

"Feel embraced, dear Kelly! Your father changed lives forever! Ozzy is a true ROCK LEGEND!!!! I'm grateful!!!!"

As another added: "It's been 6 years since I lost my dad. The deepest grief is often the shadow cast by the deepest love, not of only losing him but myself as well."

While a third praised Kelly: "Thank you for putting that into words."
