Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have reportedly chosen to mark their 2025 vow renewal - rather than their lavish 2022 wedding - as the anniversary they will continue to celebrate.

The eldest son of David Beckham, 51, and Victoria Beckham, 52, married Nicola, 31, during a three-day celebration at the Peltz family estate in Palm Beach, Florida, in April 2022, attended by around 500 guests, including members of both families, and a source has now said the event holds bad memories for the pair as the long-running rift with the Beckham family continues to dominate attention around the couple.

According to The Sun, Brooklyn, 27, and Nicola have decided their private vow renewal in August 2025 - which was attended by her family and close friends but not the Beckhams - will now be regarded as their official anniversary because of the happier memories associated with the occasion.

The report comes after Brooklyn's widely discussed statement earlier this year detailing his relationship with his parents and explaining why he and Nicola chose to renew their vows.

In that statement, Brooklyn said the ceremony allowed them to "create new memories that bring us joy and happiness" after what he described as the difficulties surrounding their first wedding.

A source told The Sun: "Brooklyn and Nicola's first wedding in April 2022 is not an occasion they look back on fondly. Nicola ended up in tears. It's not something they want to be reminded of.

"Their second wedding, where they renewed their vows last August with just her family and their friends, does hold so many happy memories however.

"Going forwards, they've decided that this is the date they will celebrate publicly together."

The report notes Brooklyn did not publicly mark the anniversary of the 2022 wedding in April, while Nicola has also not commemorated that date on social media.

Instead, both shared Instagram posts this week celebrating the anniversary of their vow renewal.

Brooklyn wrote: "Happy anniversary Nicola I can't tell you how much I love you x you are my best friend and I love you more than life itself xx.

"I am so lucky to be able to call you my wife xx you are my absolute princess and I promise to always protect you xx."

Nicola responded with her own post, writing: "Happy anniversary my love you make life so beautiful. Thank you for being the most amazing husband I could ever dream of."

The anniversary celebrations come months after Brooklyn released a lengthy public statement describing the circumstances surrounding the couple's original wedding.

In it, he alleged Victoria called him "evil" during the planning process because he and Nicola wanted his grandmother Sandra Beckham and Nicola's grandmother to sit at their table.

Brooklyn also claimed: "My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song."

He continued: "In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.

"She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.

"We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment."

The reported decision to recognise the vow renewal as their anniversary follows further signs of the ongoing family estrangement.

Last week, Brooklyn and Nicola holidayed aboard Sir Elton John's yacht near Nice on the French Riviera, while David and Victoria were staying aboard their own yacht near St Tropez, approximately 75 miles away.

Brooklyn again did not join the Beckham family's traditional summer holiday, despite the proximity.

The Beckham family tensions have remained a major talking point throughout the year following Brooklyn's public statement on his family, which detailed his reasons for distancing himself from his parents.

David and Victoria, whose careers as footballer and Spice Girl respectively made them one of Britain's most recognisable celebrity couples, have not publicly responded in detail to Brooklyn's allegations. Brooklyn, meanwhile, has continued to build his life in California with Nicola, while the family dispute has unfolded in public through statements and social media posts.
