The Sidemen's Vikkstar has broken his silence on KSI's departure from the online collective.

The 32-year-old YouTube star, musician, boxer and reality show judge - real name Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji - revealed in a video released online in May he will no longer appear in Sidemen videos.

KSI said at the time: "This is honestly the hardest video I've ever had to make in my life. I've gone back and forth on this decision for a very long time. I've spent months trying to figure out what the right thing to do is.

"But after a lot of thought, I've decided that I'm no longer (going to) be doing sidemen videos. Today, 31st of May, will be my final Sidemen video. Even saying those words out loud doesn't feel real."

His departure marks the end of an era for The Sidemen, who together built one of YouTube's biggest entertainment brands, attracting tens of millions of subscribers, selling out live events and becoming the subject of a Netflix documentary charting their rise to fame.

Now Vikkstar, real name Vikram Singh Barn, has spoken for the first time about KSI's exit during an interview on Paul Brunson's podcast, We Need To Talk.

He said: "The six of us have said that we want to carry on making the content and we have the same team that we've built to help us deliver the content. So we are continuing making content and having a great time as the six of us."

The six in question are Vikkstar himself, Simon Minter aka Miniminter, Joshua Bradley aka Zerkaa, Tobi Brown aka TBJZL, Ethan Payne aka Behzingg and Harry Lewis aka W2S.

Vikkstar continued: "It is amazing because we did always say at one point, we said if one of us leaves, do then others leave? Does that end The Sidemen?

'That was a complete unknown that arrived on our doorstep and there is no road map. There was no off-ramp. We never built an off-ramp.

"There was no on-ramp to The Sidemen, so to speak. Operationally The Sidemen is much the same which is what we wanted."
