Perez Hilton's mom has filed for temporary custody of his three children.

The 48-year-old celebrity gossip blogger - whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr - was hospitalised last week after self-harming in a disturbing TikTok livestream and now it has emerged that on Friday (07.08.26) Teresita Lavandeira applied to take on the care of Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and eight-year-old Mayte.

Documents filed in Miami, Florida, and obtained by the New York Post's PageSix.com show Perez "voluntarily consented" to the request amid his recovery.

His declaration in the paperwork stated: "I realise that by signing this document, I am consenting to the Petitioner having temporary legal custody of the minor children and that such temporary custody is in the best interest of the children.

"I realise that the custody of my children by the Petitioner is temporary and that I may, at any time, petition the court to return legal custody to me.

"I understand and acknowledge that I may have to comply with a reasonable transition plan prior to the court returning legal custody to me."

The move means Teresita can consent to necessary medical and dental care for the kids, gain access to medical and educational records, make decisions about their education, and "do all other things necessary for the care of the children."

Teresita requested the case be sealed from public view so the family could "privately heal and move forward from this very unfortunate incident."

A separate filing stated: "The Respondent in this case is a public figure and the media has been surrounding his home for days on end," the papers read. "The children in this case should not be subjected to any further trauma related to the incidents that are the basis for the Petition."

Perez's lawyer stressed it is important for the children to try and find some "normalcy" in their lives again.

Natalie Guerra-Valdes said in a statement: "My main concern and objective, as well as the family's, is to protect the children and make sure they are safe.

"We want them to have some sense of normalcy as they begin their journey of healing after the tragic events that occurred last week."

At the weekend, it was confirmed the showbiz writer is in a "serious but stable" condition.

A statement shared on his website read: "Perez's condition remains serious but stable. He experienced significant blood loss and sustained additional injuries that will require surgery in the coming days.

"His treatment and recovery will be a long process. We are grateful that Perez was able to spend time with his mother and sister yesterday."

Perez's family clarified that the only credible updates about his health will be published on his website PerezHilton.com.

They said: "His communication has been extremely limited and confined to immediate family, medical providers, and others directly involved in his care. He has not communicated with the media or issued any public statements."
