Savannah Guthrie has shared a fresh appeal for information about her mother Nancy's disappearance.

The Today host and her family's beloved mum was last seen at her home in Arizona on 31 January, and the 54-year-old broadcaster admitted she is unable to "move forward" until they know what happened to their matriarch.

Savannah took to Instagram to share a drawing by her young daughter, which featured a blue umbrella surrounded by raindrops and the words: "I know it might not seem like it but I really need my mommy."

She captioned the post: "Found this old drawing from my daughter today. It says so much about how I feel.

"The world goes on, things appear "normal" - as we try to keep going and be strong, especially for our young kids - but it's not and it never will be.

"For Annie and Tommy, for Cam and Kristine, for Mike and me and for all of mom's beloved grandchildren: we ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward. We need someone to help us, tell us what you know.

"Our mom was a light in this world. We want to celebrate her and give her the dignity she deserves.

"The reward is still available. Please. We are begging you. Please help us.

"Thank you to all those who have been kind and shown the best of humanity. Join us in praying without ceasing."

Authorities have been investigating whether Nancy was abducted by a masked intruder, who was captured on doorbell footage, while they have also been looking into claims made in ransom notes which suggested she died shortly after she was kidnapped due to health issues.

Savannah and her family offered a $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy's return, but they still don't know what happened to her.

One of the ransom notes sent to KOLD-TV 13 News on 6 February addressed the family and claimed Nancy had died after being abducted and had been "buried in nature".

It read: "We did not fully grasp the seriousness of her physical condition. We never intended to hurt her, that was not our intention.

"She perished shortly after she was taken. We believe it was heart-related. She is buried in nature now.

"Nothing you could have done could have changed the outcome. We want your family to know this and hope you all can find peace. We are truly sorry."
