Salmonella causes recall of Whole Foods store brand anti-anxiety capsules
Published in News & Features
One lot of a vegan supplement sold under the 365 Whole Foods Market brand has been recalled because the capsules might have salmonella.
Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Vitality Works’ recall notice says it made the move with 365 Whole Foods Market Standardized + Full Spectrum Blend Ashwagandha Capsules 120 count after “potential contamination was identified through routine sampling of a single retail unit.”
Recalled lot No. 2025-26227 with expiration date 10/13/2028 was sold in Whole Foods stores nationwide and by Amazon.com online from Nov. 24, 2025 through Oct. 20.
Salmonella is one of the most common foodborne illnesses, infecting about 1.35 million people in the United States each year, according to the CDC. Most people get better after four to seven days of stomachaches and diarrhea, but people head for hospitals if the diarrhea gets bloody. Adults over 65, children under 5 and people with damaged immune systems get the worst from salmonella.
Take the recalled capsules back to the store where you bought them or, if purchased through Amazon.com, request a refund online.
Direct questions about this recall to Vitality Works at 505-268-9950, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Eastern time.
