James Van Der Beek's ex-wife believes he was looking down on her when she remarried.
The Dawson's Creek star - who passed away in February after battling cancer - was married to Heather McComb from 2003 to 2010 and following her wedding to Scott Michael Campbell last month, she explained how she thinks certain signs and symbols were proof he was watching over her on their big day.
She told Us Weekly magazine: "I know we had a lot of people up in heaven shining on us that day.
"It was magical in the sense that we saw a double rainbow, two ladybugs and two white doves.
"I feel that is significant to Scott and I spiritually, and all the people that we lost, and we honour everybody who wasn't there that day."
Heather celebrated James' bond with second wife Kimberly - who he wed in 2010 after their divorce was finalised - and praised them as "true soulmates".
She told Us Weekly magazine: "I just want to say that the love and respect and admiration I have for Kimberly [Van Der Beek] is unparalleled, and the appreciation I have for their love is beyond...
"I will share one thing [about our last encounter] because I think it's beautiful.
"James and Kimberly both knew that Scott and I were getting married and they both were so full of love and support and excitement.
"I know that James would want me to celebrate our love, just like he celebrated the love that he had for Kimberly, which was so beautiful."
And while the 49-year-old actress has "so many amazing memories" of James, she is most thankful that he had approved her choice of new husband.
She said: "Just to have his blessing on this marriage was something that I will always hold on my heart.
"I think that when I look back, that is really what I hold in my heart -- is just how he loved [others] was a beautiful thing. How he loved everybody in his life, especially Kimberly and those beautiful kids."
Following the Varsity Blues actor's death, Heather admitted she had been left "heartbroken".
She wrote on Instagram: "I am heartbroken over the loss of beloved James. I am especially heartbroken for his incredible wife Kimberly, his beautiful children and his amazing family, Jim, Jared, Juliana and all of his family and friends who I know he loved deeply."
Heather subsequently described James as "a beautiful soul".
She reflected: "This is how I will always see James innocent, kind and pure of heart. What a journey we shared over the years. I sit here in immense gratitude for the special connection, friendship and love that James and I shared that has endured through decades. I will treasure the last loving words we exchanged.
"James was a beautiful soul filled with so much light, love, talent, humor, depth, sensitivity, knowledge and a deep love of God that shined through him.
"He shined so bright yet was so humble and human. Always searching, always growing, always going deeper, always chasing things outside his comfort zone.
"I know that James loved being a father so much and oh how he loved Kimberly with his everything. True soulmates. How she showed up for him with such grace is so beautiful and something I will forever admire. James was a blessing to all that knew him and because of his boldness to share his journey with the world so bravely is now a blessing to all. (sic)"
