Paul Gascoigne details 'horrific' withdrawal from 30-a-day Red Bull addiction

Paul Gascoigne sat on a rock for four days and "didn't move" while he was in rehab due to a 30-a-day Red Bull addiction.
The 59-year-old former England footballer previously went to Arizona to seek treatment for his addiction to the energy drinks, but Gascoigne - who is affectionately known as Gazza - insists the withdrawal stage was "horrific", and it included him thinking "trees were dinosaurs".
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, he said: "I think it was 30 cans a day. The withdrawal was horrific.
"I thought trees were dinosaurs and everything.
"It was terrible. I sat on a rock for four days and didn't move. I just said, 'Good morning, and good night.' That's all I did."
Gazza has since put his addiction issues behind him, and while he is planning to watch England's games at the upcoming World Cup, he has become slightly disillusioned with football nowadays.
He added: "I try not to watch football as much. With this VAR [Video Assistant Referee] and the players diving about. I cannot handle it."
Asked if he thinks the game "has gone", he replied: "Yeah, a little bit. It won't be long before it's like American football.
"You see some players on £400,000 a week and they can't even trap a bag of cement. They're that bad.
"Honestly, it's like, 'Jesus Christ.' "
Gascoigne is expecting England's first World Cup 2026 game, against Croatia on June 17th, to be their biggest test of the group stage, and he's unsure whether the Three Lions can repeat their 1966 heroics and win the tournament.
He said: "I will be watching the England games. I think the first one will be a tough one, because Croatia are a good team.
"We must get at least a draw. That's going to be the toughest game."
Asked if England can win this year's World Cup, he said: "I don't know. We've been saying that since 1966."
