NEW YORK — Art Garfunkel and Paul Simon shared “tears” as the former Simon & Garfunkel bandmates broke bread in 2025, with the former finally feeling “proud” and “great” about the Grammy-winning duo’s legacy.

The Queens-bred childhood friends-turned-kings of folk, both aged 84, enjoyed a “very lovely” dinner this past year, Garfunkel told People.

“There were tears, there were hugs,” said the crooner and “Carnal Knowledge” star, with whom Simon notoriously fractured in 1970.

While the “Bridge over Troubled Water” artists — both Grammy winners in their own right — ended their hit-making partnership over half a century ago, Garfunkel says their dynamic “goes in and out.” That would explain the intermittent touring stints in decades since.

Most notably, they reunited for 1981’s storied Central Park concert, which Garfunkel calls “the greatest night of my life.”

As for the recent olive branch, Garfunkel — who’s on his “What a Wonderful World” tour through mid-November — said he doesn’t “know if it’ll lead to anything.

“I don’t think so much about him as I think about what’s ahead of me,” continued the “Catch-22” star. “I’m feeling very positive now.”

In Simon’s 2024 MGM+ docuseries, “In Restless Dreams: The Music of Paul Simon,” the beloved songwriter shared that the two “were really best friends up until ‘Bridge over Troubled Water.'”

It was at that point that Garfunkel turned an eye toward the screen and Simon felt there was an “uneven balance of power,” though the former told People he’d hoped acting would “beef up my half” of the partnership.
