Morgan Fairchild reflects on terrifying abduction ordeal and how she got out of it

Morgan Fairchild has recalled a horrifying moment she was abducted on the streets of New York - but her "wise cracks" saved her.
The soap opera icon - who has appeared in the likes of Search for Tomorrow, Dallas, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road and General Hospital - was taken off the street in the Big Apple by two burly men and thrown into a cab during her early career.
Speaking about the terrifying ordeal on her and her sister Cathryn Hartt's 2 B*****s from Texas podcast, she said: "I'm like a kid from Texas, but I knew you weren't supposed to talk to people in New York on the street, so I just keep walking.
"Then this other big guy comes up on the other side of me and he's talking. Then they kind of pick me up between my elbows and throw me in this cab that they've got kind of loitering, that I hadn't noticed, and then they just started telling me one's a p**p and one's a pusher.
"They were telling me all the things they were going to do to my body and all the drugs they were going to shoot me up with and all this stuff."
While Fairchild was "scared" amid the awful situation, she tried to remain calm.
Fortunately, her captors eventually let her go because they were impressed with the star's jokes.
She added: "I'm so shy, but by God, inside there's a spine of steel. I was damned if I was going to let these guys see how scared I was.
"So, every time they would say something they were going to do to me, I'd make some wise crack.
"And then they'd say something and I'd make some wise crack.
"We just kept going like that for a while and finally one of them looked at the other and said, 'You know, she's funny. Let's let her go.'
"And they gave the cabbie some money and said, 'Take her wherever she wants to go.' "
Following the incident, Morgan went to her sister's apartment and she didn't leave the abode for three days.
She explained: "I went home to your apartment and I didn't come out for three days."
