Erling Haaland's "doppelganger" Emma Kate Willman has broken her silence on their "unreal" resemblance.

Influencer Emma - who has 146,000 followers on Instagram and 414,000 on TikTok page - was thrust into the spotlight after the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicked off last month as soccer fans compared her to the Norwegian Manchester City striker with many claiming she looks just like him and even does her hair the same way.

After the claims started circulating online, she posted a TikTok video in which she said: "The best doppelganger you give me is a male soccer player? Really? ... No offence to Haaland at all, but I am very much just a little girl from Charleston."

However, she has now embraced the craze after gaining thousands more followers - sharing videos in which she recreated his most famous hairstyles and even gained a comment from the man himself who wrote: "Hi" on one of her posts.

Emma told PEOPLE: "[It's been] so surreal ... I never expected braiding my hair to turn into millions of people comparing me to Erling Haaland.

"It's been amazing to watch the Internet have so much fun with it, and seeing Erling comment on my video made the whole thing feel even more unreal.

"As a creator, you never know what's going to resonate, so I'm just grateful people have embraced it and had fun along the way."

She went on to reveal she will be going to see Haaland's team Norway take on England in the World Cup quarter-final in Miami, Florida on Saturday (11.07.26) and she'd love to finally meet her "twin".

Emma told the publication: "It would be pretty funny if our paths crossed in real life after all of this."

The influencer is even holding an Erling Haaland lookalike contest in Miami on the day of the match and the winner will get tickets to the game.

In a post on her Instagram page, she wrote: "If you have ever been told you look like Haaland and are a Norway fan, you're in for a surprise! @kalshi is helping me host an Erling Haaland look alike contest right before the game on Saturday for 2 FREE TICKETS TO THE GAME!

"Meet us at the location [in Miami], and bring your best Haaland moves! See you there and good luck!"
