Taylor Swift insisted no guest should lose their place on The Graham Norton Show when she joined the BBC programme.

In what host Graham Norton described as a "very last-minute" booking while the singer, 36, was promoting her The Life of a Showgirl album, Taylor was added to the show line-up for the October edition of the long-running chat series after the programme had already reached capacity.

Speaking in a new interview with British GQ, Graham recalled producers initially believed another celebrity would have to be removed from the sofa to make room for Taylor.

Instead, he said, the request came back from Taylor nobody should be replaced for her sake.

The appearance later proved memorable for another reason, with every guest on the programme going on to appear in Taylor's Opalite music video, released four months later.

The interview comes as Taylor continues to dominate headlines following her wedding to Travis Kelce, 36.

Reflecting on Taylor's appearance, Graham explained how close producers came to changing the line-up.

He said: "The show was fully booked."

Graham continued: "So we thought, 'We're going to have to bump somebody'."

According to Graham, Taylor quickly rejected the idea.

He said: "Word came back from Taylor: 'No one must be bumped'."

The decision meant the programme featured an unusually large group of guests, with Taylor joined by Cillian Murphy, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Domhnall Gleeson and Lewis Capaldi.

Looking back on the episode, Graham said: "That was a good show to be on, because everyone ended up in the Opalite music video."

He added: "Everyone!"

During the same appearance, Taylor also discussed her engagement to NFL player Travis, saying she was looking forward to planning their wedding.

She said: "I know it's going to be fun to plan because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount, and people are on the bubble, and you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them to see if they should be there. I'm not gonna do that."

Taylor also told Graham he would "know" when the wedding was taking place because she intended to invite him.

Taylor and Travis married on Friday, 3 July, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, with around 1,000 guests attending the ceremony.
