FORT WORTH, Texas — Taylor Sheridan’s “Frisco King” has wrapped filming in North Texas.

The Paramount+ series stars Samuel L. Jackson as Russell Lee Washington Jr., a hit man that crosses paths with Sylvester Stallone’s “Tulsa King” character on the show’s third season. Previously titled “NOLA King,” the spinoff was originally supposed to be set and made in New Orleans, but is now a North Texas production.

Cameras began rolling on “Frisco King” in late March in Fort Worth.

Now, four months later, the show has wrapped production on Season 1. Here’s what to know.

‘Frisco King’ wraps filming

“Frisco King” actors Kai Caster and Lilah Pate both took to Instagram on Tuesday, July 21, to commemorate their last day of shooting.

Caster’s Instagram story contained an image of him looking at the camera in the backdrop of what appears to be a ranch setting. The 27-year-old actor plays Keith, a polite valet at the local Sandman Hotel.

In Pate’s post, she’s outside her trailer wearing a “Frisco King”-themed sweatshirt that she says is a gift from Jackson.

It’s hard to make out the writing on the back of the sweatshirt, but it appears to be a script page from “Frisco King.” Pate, 22, plays London, a local cheerleading goddess who’s not afraid to use her good looks to get what she wants.

Legacy Casting also posted an image celebrating the conclusion of filming.

The Texas-based company hires the extras used in the show, and put out a number of casting calls over the past few months. One of the last sequences filmed for “Frisco King” was a rave scene that saw Legacy hire hundreds of extras.

Sheridan is writing every episode of “Frisco King” himself.

The show is expected to be another “fish out of water” story with Jackson’s character living and working in a city far from his New Orleans beginnings. This is the same premise for “Tulsa King,” which sees Stallone’s New York City character adjust to life in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In addition to Fort Worth, “Frisco King” filmed in Dallas, Frisco, Keller, Denton and Southlake. Asa Germann and Savanna Gann also star in the show.

No release date has been set for the series.
