NEW YORK — Oprah Winfrey and her longtime partner Stedman Graham made a rare public appearance together to celebrate the upcoming 40th anniversary of “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” which left the airwaves 15 years ago.
Their outing to Chicago’s Navy Pier marked the first time in almost seven years the pair is known to have attended an event together. They filmed a video with chef Art Smith, whose Reunion restaurant provided the grub.
“Hey!” Winfrey shouts excitedly in that video showing the trio holding a plate of chicken. “Art’s fried chicken!”
The restaurant added a note of gratitude to the clip.
“A true Chicago legend, Oprah has touched countless lives throughout the years, including that of our very own Chef Art Smith,” that caption reads. “Before becoming a celebrated chef and restaurateur, Art served as Oprah’s personal chef and went on to make regular appearances on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show,’ creating a connection and friendship that has endured through the years.”
Winfrey and Graham were last seen together publicly at Tyler Perry Studios Grand Opening Gala in 2019, according to E! News.
“Thank you for being the greatest team ever!” Winfrey told her Harpo crew at the weekend event.
Her show debuted Sept. 8, 1986. It launched an empire that makes Winfrey, 72, worth $3.4 billion, according to Forbes.
She thanked her crew with a note on Instagram that also promised her fans a reunion podcast is in the works.
“And to ‘all my children’ who got raised from The Oprah Show by me, your mamas, and grandmamas, we’ll celebrate on the @oprahpodcast in September!” Winfrey teased.
