DENVER — U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert’s son was arrested last week on three felony charges related to sexual exploitation of a child, court records show.

Tyler Boebert, 21, was arrested in Garfield County and was released from the county’s jail on Sunday, jail records show. Court records indicate he was arrested on suspicion of five felonies, apparently related to an alleged incident in early 2024, when Boebert was 18.

His charges include sexual exploitation of a child and child exploitation with intent to “deal in, sell or distribute … any sexually exploitative material,” as well as a third charge that relates to videotaped material.

Court records detailing the specific allegations against Tyler Boebert were not publicly available Monday. A warrant was issued for his arrest on Thursday, according to records obtained by The Denver Post that list an address in Windsor.

He also faces two felony counts for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Court records indicate his bail was set Friday at $10,000.

Attempts to reach Tyler Boebert were unsuccessful Monday. Joseph Gavaldon, a defense attorney who represented him in a separate case earlier this year, would not confirm whether he was again representing Boebert. He declined to comment.

“I love my son,” Congresswoman Boebert, R-Colo., said in a statement Monday. “We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time.”

State court records indicate Tyler Boebert has another court hearing later this month.

The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, which according to court records investigated Tyler Boebert, did not respond to a message seeking comment, nor did the Ninth Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

Tyler Boebert was previously arrested in Rifle in 2024 on 22 felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with a string of vehicle break-ins. He pleaded guilty later that year to one count of attempted identity theft.

He was charged earlier this year with misdemeanor child abuse without injury, court records show. He faced a similar charge last year. In both cases, a child that Tyler Boebert was watching wandered away from Congresswoman Boebert’s home, according to 9News.
