The Wiggles make awkward Oasis confession

The Wiggles are "so out of touch" and don't really know who Oasis actually are.

The Australian band had an awkward moment when they struggled to recognise the Britpop legends' classic Wonderwall, and had to admit they aren't all that familiar with Liam and Noel Gallagher's music.

During an appearance on Australian radio show Nova 96.9's Ricki-Lee and Tim, the hosts played Wonderwall, but The Wiggles member Lucia didn't recognise it.

She confessed: "Controversially, I like Blur more … that is why I have no idea."

She's not the only one, as her bandmate Anthony admitted he got Oasis mixed up with The Beatles during a visit with his son to Abbey Road Studios.

He revealed: "I bought him what I thought was a Paul McCartney and John Lennon poster and he said, 'They're the guys from Oasis'. I am so out of touch mate."

However, he did do slightly better than Lucia, as he was able to name the tune.

He added: "I know they had a song called Wonderwall."

After rising to fame in children's TV, The Wiggles have built up a strong following among adults, and collaborate with artists like Dolly Parton.

The country icon penned and sang on the track Friends!, and also featured on the original tune We Will Always Be Friends on 2025's star studded album Wiggle Up, Giddy Up!

Her 1980 classic 9 to 5 was also reimagined on Counting 1 to 5 in the name of education.

She said in a statement at the time: "Well, I just wiggled my way out into the Wiggles' world!

"I had so much fun being a part of this project, and I hope you enjoy it as much as we have."

Anthony Field, the Blue Wiggle, added: "Dolly's music is pure magic.

"Getting to work with her on these songs is a dream come true. We can't wait for families everywhere to sing along and share in the joy."

Caterina Mete, who has a Dolly tattoo and named one of her daughters after the singer, said: "Getting to work with my absolute musical hero is beyond surreal.

"Dolly has inspired me in so many ways, and I know these songs will bring so much happiness to families everywhere."
