Auto review: 2026 Land Rover Defender 110 declares SUV satisfaction
Published in Business News
Wrapped in Woolstone Green, the Land Rover Defender 110 is a seven-seat gem that blends everyday utility, off-road chops and luxury.
As Jaguar and Land Rover have joined hands recently to create JLR, the level of detail has increased nicely across the fleet. Our week-long tester had great boxy aesthetics on the exterior and a nicely apportioned interior with comfortable seating for all passengers.
Standard features included were panoramic sunroof, LED headlights, heated and cooled seats, two-zone climate control, a 13.1-inch infotainment system with navigation, Meridian surround sound system with online pack and data plan. Connectivity also included Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and SiriusXM. Optional upgrades on our tester included a cold climate package, advanced off-road capability package, air suspension package and premium upgrade interior package. Additional items also included heads-up display, tow hitch, WiFi capability, 20-inch gloss five-spoke silver wheels. This was calculated at an additional $12,000 or so with the additional cabin air-purification and Caraway Windsor leather seat and ebony interior option.
Powered by the 3.0 mild hybrid six-cylinder gas engine producing 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, the Defender 110 has no issues getting upland while still achieving a decent fuel mileage. All-wheel drive, electric power assisted steering and terrain response off-road modes were additional features. Warranty coverage includes a four-year/50,000-mile new vehicle warranty, four-year/50,000 mile roadside assistance, and a six-year/unlimited mileage corrosion warranty.
Jaguar Land Rover has done a great job in recent years to overcome historical concerns about electrical and reliability issues. JD Power has reported an 82/100 score for quality and reliability on the Land Rover Defender, proving JLR is on the upswing. Our week-long Defender was a blast to drive and gave off upscale Wrangler and Bronco vibes.
